This
is one of my personal favourite rollercoasters because it’s a 'launch coaster'
which reaches 80mph in 1.9 seconds.
The
rollercoaster first opened on March 15th 2006 at Thorpe Park in
Surrey, England and cost £12 million to build. It was manufactured by 'Intamin'
and designed by Werner Stengel.
The
ride starts off by propelling you to 80mph, almost instantly and it feels
like
the coaster is literally pulling you to 80mph from the station. You rocket
upwards along the track and suddenly you realise that you’re 205 feet above the
ground with breathtaking views over Surrey and West London. You then drop down 204 feet and the coaster
takes you back to the station and in to the ride exit.
I’d
say this is probably one of my favourite rollercoasters that I've experienced,
but with various other attractions I've been on like the Rocking Rollercoaster in Disney World, Florida, which launches you
up to 60 mph and gives you a ride that jumps around all over the place, it's
hard to say which rollercoaster is my all time favourite.
The Stealth rollercoaster makes you feel
like you’re accelerating to 80mph on a road but the coaster instantly launches
you to 80mph. In reality though you're not legally allowed to go over 70mph on
the motorway in the UK as it's the maximum speed limit allowed. But you can
experience higher speeds if you use the intercity trains , which can take you
to over 100mph through the countryside of Britain, taking you from one city to
another.
It's
rare for a bus/train enthusiast to give a review of a rollercoaster experience,
but I may not be the first.
